I have been at Texas State since the middle of August, and I
absolutely love it here! I play the
piccolo in the Bobcat Marching Band and I am so thankful to be a part of this
group. Also, I have recently been hired
as a news reporter for The University Star.
I am glad that I have already become involved at Texas State, because I
never have time to sit around and be bored.
We started classes this week, which I am not too fond of because I have
terrible study skills. It will be a
challenge to get used to balancing my extracurricular activities with work and
school, while still leaving myself some time to relax. Everything that I have experienced here is so
much different than high school. The
classes are more difficult and you are given a lot more responsibility. Marching band and journalism are way more
demanding. You’re away from your family
and friends back home. However, I have
found that dorm life isn’t all that terrible and the people you meet here are
amazing. Football games are so much fun! The best part is that you are given the freedom to be able to do all
of the things that you love. I’m excited
to see what the rest of my freshman year brings my way!
